It is no secret that kids love and need healthy snacks throughout the day! If you have school-age kids, then you know that they are positively famished by the end of the day. The first most kids want when coming in the door? Why a snack of course!
Here are a few fun and healthy snack ideas for kids of all ages:
Banana Pops
Recipe:
3 bananas
6 Popsicle sticks
1/4 cup peanut butter, softened
1/4 cup chopped peanuts or walnuts, granola, crispy rice cereal or sunflower seeds
Peel the bananas and then cut them in half (width-wise). Spread peanut butter on the bananas and roll them in nuts or sunflower seeds. Wrap in wax paper and pop in the freezer for 3 hours (or until frozen).
Frozen Fruit Salad
This one is simple. All you have to do is freeze a mixture of your child’s favorite fruit (grapes, bananas, any kind of berry, pineapple, etc.). This is an easy-to-make tasty treat that is great on warm days!
Safari Dip
Recipe:
Peanut butter
Honey
Celery or apple
Animal crackers
Mix together peanut butter and honey. Then spread in a piece of celery or on an apple. Place animal crackers in the dip mixture. Fun, healthy and tasty!
